Gorge Report 4-7 Aug - IceFishingGod - 08-08-2003 Report from the dudes. The guys (Team Outlaw MOFO) fished it this week and to say Mack fishing was bad would be an understatement. Trolling was slow to non-existant. 8 guys,3 boats, 1 Mack (12lbs.) bunch of small Kokes. No Bows of any size in Sheep Creek. Lots of stockie Bows in Horeshoe and Hideout. Most big fish marked were down over a hundred feet in the far south end near the Fire Fighters Memorial. Nobody was hungry. The boat launch at Lucerne is almost non-launchable for bigger boats. Tom had his to the edge and still had a hard time getting it off. Put a spotter in the water to ensure your trailer doesn't run off the edge. Be carefull off swim beach since the anchor points are now just out of the water. Tom saw a kid on a jet ski hit one and he was unhurt except for a couple of scrapes. The jet ski was destroyed. One down, 40,000 more to go. If you go the Smallmouth bite is smokin hot. 200 fish days are common and some nice ones (3#+) to boot. The rock points just north of the pipeline was the hot ticket. Everything worked from what I hear. Good Luck if you go. [signature] Re: [IceFishingGod] Gorge Report 4-7 Aug - Kayote - 08-08-2003 Good report, thank you for sharing. Seems like the smallies are always on there. Good Fishing, Kayote [signature] Re: [IceFishingGod] Gorge Report 4-7 Aug - Lundman - 08-08-2003 Thanks for the update - sounds like the August Kokanee fishing is going to be for the 12" to 14" fish.[] Now a moment of silence for the low-water conditions [unsure] [signature] |
