Hit Rockport early on Independence day. Fishing was really slow from the shore, using orange and yellow powerbait. My friend hooked a 7" smallie on powerbait. Then we each landed nice 14"-15" bows. Trout fishin then proceeded to plummet, with my buddy only having a few small bites, but not landing anything.
Bored with sitting there, I decided to put on a small rainbow rapala and try my luck from shore. I quickly landed 5 smallies, most were about 3", but two were 6-7

Normally people would say so what about these 5 smallies, but these were the first bass I have ever caught in my 33 years of life!!!
Them be some fun fish.
