Tube or Pontoon? - MarineSpear - 10-01-2010 [ ![]() I am trying to decide between the Pontoon boats or Float tubes. I know some of the most experienced vets on here *TD for example* are big on tubes. I have also seen multipul Pontooners out in the forums so I cant decide which I am most interested in. I am a diver/Carp spearer so getting wet is not a problem and im in great physical shape so that is not a problem either. I am just curious which is best for fishing reasons. I know it is a matter of opinion so that is why I am asking all of you what are some pros and cons of each? I know tubes you get more wet and can be quite a workout and pontoons get pushed around in the wind alot. So any tips would be great. thanks [signature] Re: [MarineSpear] Tube or Pontoon? - kochanut - 10-01-2010 North Fork Outdoors Outlaw Avenger... you can add a motor, both electric and gas, at the same time and has a deck you could climb onto! you could use it for bigger water and big rivers. for smaller waters i would go with the Outlaw Renegade, add the motor mount and a little electric motor to it, but im 100% biased lol [signature] Re: [kochanut] Tube or Pontoon? - kochanut - 10-01-2010 my avatar pic shows the renegade here is a closer view of the avenger. Do you want to use an elec motor or gas? How far on a lake will you want to travel? What do you have to transport it with? If you got the dough your going to have a more enjoyable experience with a toon more comfortable and space and even better with a trolling motor but remember if it has a motor its treated like a boat. But if your on a budget a float tube is great option don't forget about waders. I have had very fond memories out on a float tube its almost like your one with the water lol just my preference.[cool] [signature] Re: [MarineSpear] Tube or Pontoon? - TheCarDoctor - 10-01-2010 You really should buy a copy of TD's Tubin' and Toonin' book on CD if you haven't done so already. He goes through a lot of the pros and cons of both.
