Another lake mead water level post.. - Sil240sxrwd - 10-20-2010 Just saw on the news that Lake Mead is at the lowest level it has been in 75 years... SCARY!! They also said that if it drops 8 more feet.. a shortage will be declared and rationing will go into effect for both Nevada and Arizona. The report also mentioned The BoR is planning on equalizing the level of Mead and Powell. ==================================== We all called it. They always wait til the S*** hits the fan before they will do something...Now if they even Powell and Mead out, How much do you guys think the level of Mead will raise? I dont know how much water Powell could give us, but I know that the fishing will be sick shortly there-after!! Would be nice if they could get it up to a 60% capacity. And if they do equalize powell and mead hopefully it will show a dif.[unimpressed] [signature] Re: [4poundonly] Another lake mead water level post.. - syncityangler - 10-20-2010 i know right? why mexico? i still can't believe that boulder harbor is gone i was just there last march and it was full, but everytime we went it was lower and lower, now its just a weedy mud hole with a sunken pontoon, some tractor tires, and cement blocks [signature] Re: [syncityangler] Another lake mead water level post.. - iamthesmf - 10-20-2010 Soon it will look like this.....................[inline lowtide.jpg] [signature] Re: [syncityangler] Another lake mead water level post.. - syncityangler - 10-24-2010 i found this while surfing the web don't really know how to read it but it seems bad. In one word, it is definitely ![]() [signature] Re: [Erawk] Another lake mead water level post.. - jebusmc - 10-29-2010 This is what happens when you base your water allotment to California, Arizona, Mexico, and Nevada off of 1200 year highs for the Colorado River and then add millions of people downstream. Arizona finally started taking its full allotment sometime around 2000. I'm guessing that if we look at the water level history of Mead we'll find that it started really dropping around then. I'm not denying a drought, just that the drought has been over for a few years now. Water flow into the Colorado River system is near normal but outflow is still way above inflow.
