tackle suggestions for me? - HFT - 10-22-2010 Will be in Sandiego on wednesday for my boys Marine graduation. I am going to fish a 1/2 day boat, they said 20lb line will be heavy enough, they are catching rockfish, sheep headsw etc. What hooks? size sinkers? jig heads? should I take some soft plastics or jigging spoons? I have all the gear but it always seems to be just a little off when I get fishing on these half day trips and I don't want to lug all my tackle . been 2 years since I've been to CA. If you're fishing the bottom you'll probably want some heavy torpedo sinkers (2-4 oz. or more). I would call the landing to see what tackle they recommend. I'm sure they'll even sell you a tackle pack before you head out. Good Luck! Honeymoon and all. Hope that you made out okay. Usually the boats get one all rigged up with live or cut bait so one leaves that stuff to the deck hands. So how did it go?[/#008000][/font] [signature] Re: [BobFrapples] tackle suggestions for me? - HFT - 10-31-2010 thanks for the replies, I did have the right gear with me, but the fishing was lame, got bored fishing the bottom so I started catching mackerel for fun.
