Interesting find. - DailyAngler - 10-30-2010 Today my niece and I headed down to sugarhouse park to explore the fishin options. we headed down to the inlet of the duck pond to see if we could spot some carp or something when we stumbled across this guy (picture included), looks like a bonneville cutthroat maybe washed down from parley's canyon. I was interested to hear people speculation about where this fish came from. Thanks, Eric Re: [DailyAngler] Interesting find. - tomegun - 10-30-2010 Looks like a rainbow. Maybe Bassrods knows when the DWR planted them in there too? [signature] Re: [DailyAngler] Interesting find. - Bowcutt - 10-30-2010 That's a "native" cutthroat. I caught them when I was a kid sneaking onto the old Utah State prison grounds, a long time ago. Parley's creek has a lot of them. That one is bigger then most with the average being in the 8-9 inch range, [signature] Re: [DailyAngler] Interesting find. - TheCarDoctor - 10-30-2010 It's most likely a carp dressed up for Halloween. [ ![]() That's a native cut. When my wife and I lived in the Avenues, I used to catch a few in city creek by the church office building too! That one looks a little bigger than average though. [signature] Re: [pookiebar] Interesting find. - xoskins - 11-01-2010 It's a cut, the Orange fins are the sure way of telling if they have any cut in them. Even if they are a cutbow they will still have the orange fins [signature] |
