Where, What & When the Techniques - iamthesmf - 11-24-2010 With the striper club info and this site, thanks to Capt. J you should be able to catch stripers year round at the lake. We charter a trip at least once a year, locals get 10% off ($30) John was a past President of the club and has finished 3rd or better in at least 40 tournaments. I got a question do stripers always roll in schools? does it depend on size/age? One time I caught a half dozen dinks same spot one after another fast action figured I got into a school of dinks. Another time lake was really calm n quiet I was just casting cranks for bass (the non striped ones) a nice average size striper nailed it in about 3ft of water. Kept casting back to the same area and no love figured he was a lone wolf. They are like sharks and must keep swimming or find a current. Ever notice the die on a stringer? So you got one then no love,.....why? Because the school just swam by and ate your one offering. If you were chumming you could have gotten a lot more. Once you get them to bite, keep feeding them. About one handful ever 10-15 minutes. You can keep them there for hours feeding on your chum. It's possible to get one on ever cast, without the bait ever hitting the bottom. [signature] |
