That is on the bear river however. I think a lot of it depends on the weather and when the run off is. [signature] Re: [fisherman_jr] willard cats - Utcatman - 03-22-2011 You can start now! !! In some areas the night fishing is better. In Willard you will catch cats just about all day because they are sight feeders and feed on live food (shad and crawdads). I fish only during the day, myself, and usually do better between the time the sun comes over the mountain (8-ish) to about noon. Sometimes they slow down for a while at midday. But they usually get active again by late afternoon into evening.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]During the warm part of the year you will usually catch bigger cats by fishing at night...and right next to the rocks. The bigguns prowl the rocks looking for whatever they can find...crawdads, bluegills, crappies, shad or whatever. [/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]This time of year you just fish from the rocks out to about 15', looking until you find the fish. Use minnows, cut carp meat, nightcrawlers or even a piece of hot dog. It can be slow in cold water but after a couple of nice calm warm days the fish often get very active.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Good luck.[/#0000ff] [signature] |
