Minn Kota Edge vs. Powerdrive V2 help. - Lawdog330 - 04-14-2011
Some of you posted on my question of thrust. I have been searching online and looking at stores and have got my purchase down to a few motors.
I am looking at the Minn Kota motors
The Edge bow mount and the Powerdrive V2 bow mount.
55 lb thrust in both.
Do any of you have either of those motors and if so how do you like them. The Powerdrive is compatible with the IPilot and has a smaller base to mount to my bow.
The Edge is a bit cheaper but has a larger base to attach the bow.
I appreciate any help I can get on these two motors.

As you mentioned, the Powerdrive V2 is compatible with the i-Pilot (easily upgraded). That alone is worth high consideration. I love my Powerdrive V2 that I upgraded with the i-Pilot. However, I must admit that this is the first electric bowmount that I have ever owned. So I can't really compare it with anything else.

I too was in the market for a new trolling motor. After alot of internet reading I picked up the powerdrive v2 55# with the Ipilot. I found it online at gander mountain with a 50.00 off coupon and free shipping and no sales tax. 779.00

well i just bought a power drive2 and it was easy to install i pick my up at sportmen where house for 499 it was a great deal very good motor
