gene0122, Tellico, WALLEYE, 4-25-11 - FishNews - 05-04-2011 Had a few hours to fish before an appointment today so off I went. <br />Put the crappie rods aside this time to go out in search of walleye. <br />Had been thinking about it for a while just hadn't got around to it yet.<br />Got on the water a little after 10 and fished till around 12:30 or so.<br />Fished rip rap, flats, and steep sloping banks that were shaded from the sun.<br />Rip Rap didn't produce any fish.<br />I didn't figure fish would be on the flat until night fall but I gave it a try anyhow without reward.<br />Fishing the steep shaded banks.. Bingo<br />I picked up a good 28 inch walleye on a deep diving redfin at around 15ft.<br />My best walleye to date. I had caught walleye at this location before but not near this size.<br />A couple of boats stopped to watch me land this fish. I think they were hoping it was going to be a bass.<br /><br /><br />
