Best way to work a lure..? - BaziBassMan723 - 05-20-2011

Normally, I use skirt and spoon spinner baits of Rapala sinkers/topwaters for bass fishing, and I am really clueless about how to do what seems to be called "work the bait." Normally I zig-zag my bait a little bit, and then just wait and see. Any tips? Also, I'm looking to pick up some Senko lures. Any tips for the best ones and how to work them?

I call my senko type baits my "do nothin'" baits. I drag them across the bottom or over structure and the bait does all the work. I've got 5" green pumpkin and Watermelon , both with black flake and scent with anise. I've got too many of them actually. If you want some I'll give you a good deal.

Where can I buy Senkos with those kinds of specifications?

Senkos are a sinking worm, so you cast them out and let them sink to the bottom, then give it a jig or two then slowly reel in the slack, then let it sink again, and just repeat that. That is if the worm is texas rigged. If you are wacky rigging it, a hook put right through the middle, then same thing let it sink, then reel a little and as you are reeling slightly and constantly shake the tip of the rod, it looks like a noodle in the water and bass go crazy but it tears up the senko very fast. What i do is fish them texas rigged and once the top is ripped where it won't stay on the eye of the hook i wacky rig it. Good luck!
