Where to go? - cm2he11spawn - 05-27-2011

I am going fishing with my family this Saturday and wanted to know if you guys had any fun places to go to? I was thinking East Canyon, Deer Creek, or Rockport. I am leaning more towards East Canyon or Deer Creek though, as I have heard Rockport has been less than stellar these days. I am open to ideas. Or if you have been to any of these places recently and can tell me how the fishing was, that would be helpful also.

Thank you Smile

Last year and this year I have done rather well at Rockport. I have also done well at Deer Creek this spring. I haven't fished East Canyon in a number of years, so I can't contribute any input for that body of water.

What I have done this year is start at Deer Creek, then hit Rockport, since it's close, and fish both waters the same day.

That whole area offers a lot of choices, so you can mix and match if you are a bank tangler like me.

In my opinion, DC, Jordanelle, Rockport, and Echo are all within reasonable driving distance from each other, that enables you to potentially fish all 4 of them in a single day if you were feeling really adventurous.

Add some warmer weather, and you could add Smith & Morehouse to the list.

[reply]Thanks for the info. I will probably do DC. My family can be kind of flighty so I don't think they would want to leave one place to go to another. But DC sounds nice. It would be a chance for me to try and catch a tiger trout, as I have yet to catch one Smile.
Again, thank you Smile[/reply]
