Sparky Miracle? - Leaky33 - 07-21-2011

I'm sure you're tired of hearing about this. Sad Well, -------------. something has happened that is hard for me to comprehend with any kind of logic. Almost 2 years ago now Sparky experienced a sever ifraspanitus muscle/tendon damage in the left shoulder. Then almost to the date he did the same thing on the other side!!!!!!!! Well. ---------, he hasn't been able to do much of anything now for 1 year and 8 mos. w/o sever limping on first one then the other leg.
Now the miracle !!!!! About a month ago,he seemed to be much better so I took him on a few fishing trips and he did good. Ok, I got back form an SE. Id reservoir trip today and he wouldn't stay out of the water!!!! He swam across the entire reservoir 3 times and swam with me about 80% of the time while fishing for 5 hours.!!! Now maybe this doesn't sound like such a big deal but he's over 8 years old now and showing more energy then he ever did??? After he got home, he actually wanted to play fetch with his tennis ball!!!!
This is very, very difficult for me to comprehend. Confusedhock: You dang right, I'm counting my blessings over and over and one happy guy. But, -----------, I just can't comprehend how this has occurred????

I am glad your companion is doing better- whatever the reason is.
July 3rd my folks had to put their lab of thirteen plus down. We got him when I was in high school. These silly beings are the living definitions of unconditional love. It's hard to let go, but harder to watch them suffer.
I'm glad you don't have to let go yet [Smile]

Glad to hear he's back A lot of chronic tendinitis does burn itself out after a year or two. Just don't let him overdue it too soon and trigger it again.
My 13 yo dog was confined to stillwater for a few months. She had knee surgery 3 weeks ago and had her first river trip swimming and fishing with me and the other dog last weekend. At her age she'll be retired to trips that only cover a few miles or less.

same thing happened to me with my dog in 3rd grade..he was sick, tired and old....then one day he was just full of life and energy and more love than ever....come to find out, the original old bugger died while us kids were at school and my mom went on a frantic hunt for a duplicate before we got home...we were none the wiser until they confessed years later

I am sure you are smarter than a 3rd grader Smile
