Lake Mead Sunday II - BaySport - 09-23-2003
Tried our luck again, this is how it went:
Sunday,9/21- Hit the water early (5:00am)to beat the rush at the ramp. Wind blowing east out of Las Vegas Bay producing a light chop. Found ourselves near Swallow Bay enjoying the sunrise in calm water. I watched a coyote jump into the water and swim across a cove (about 200 meters)instead of walking around the shoreline. Where is the camera when you need it? Scratched up a couple of small stripers before heading back into Las Vegas Bay. Around the Hole 33 area we encountered a lot of fish activity along with thousands and thousands of dollars worth of boats.I tried something different,using a 5" Storm Wild Eye Swim Shad (a pretty big lure),letting it really sink before retriving it. We ended up with 10 fish, two of them mine. All fish caught were pretty small (1-2 pounds). We were off the water by 9:00am. I can't wait until this weekend when we will once again try our luck.
