Hobbs Pond!?! - Kevin_VanDam - 09-23-2011 Did anyone else see the blurb in Wednesday's outdoor section about stocking Hobbs Pond with trout and turning it into a community fishery? I've always thought it would be a great place for trout because of the cool mountain stream it's fed by. Never thought they would open it up to fishing though because of a drowning accident a few years back. There will also be a length limit requiring all fish above 12" inches to be released. I think that's a great idea because it will let the larger fish grow to a quality size. Wish they had the same regulation on largemouth bass at other community ponds (cough......Holmes Creek......cough). I also wish they'd stop stocking trout at Holmes Creek because it's not an ideal habit for them; It's better suited for warm water species. Oh well, Holmes Creek's glory days are now part of the history books. Guess I'll just have to accept that ![]() ![]() Re: [Kevin_VanDam] Hobbs Pond!?! - kochanut - 09-23-2011 i read that, shame they couldent hire more law enforcment to patrol because its going to be a slay fest out there with folks leaving with buckets of fish [signature] |
