Extremely slow sinking fly line - TubeFisherman - 10-05-2011

I've heard that there is a fly line out there that sinks around 0.5 ips to 1.25 ips. I currently use WF, size 6 to 8 full sink line that sinks at a rate of 1.25 ips to 1.75 ips (type 1). It basically would be between a floating fly line and a Type I sinking line. I'm use to the full sinking lines, so I really don't know anything about the sinking tip lines. Does anyone know of any fly line that would have that really slow sinking rate; I can seem to find anything? This time of year I love to fish in 6 to 8 feet of water and the type 1 sinks a little to fast for me.

INTERMEDIATE. I like Cortland Clear Camo, but there are some new additions from other companies.

There is also a floating line with Intermediate head.

Maybe think of getting line for a 6 wt instead of the 8 wt. as any sinking line you get, the higher the number, the faster it will sink (MASS)

I don't use sink tips so no clue, but you also have two choices in full sink.

Density Compensated which sinks uniformly or Wet Cell which will form a belly (great for weedy places)

For Spring and Fall fishing when I know fish are in shallow....Intermediate for sure.

But I am not sure of a line with the gap you have posted. Here is a chart

Sink Rate Sink Rate Per Second
1 1/2 to 1-1/2 inches Intermediate Sinking
2 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 inches
3 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches Slow Sinking
4 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 inches
5 4-1/2 to 5-1/2 inches Fast Sinking
6 5-1/2 to 6-1/2 inches
7 6-1/2 to 7-1/2 inches
8 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 inches Very Fast Sinking
9 8-1/2 to 9-1/2 inches
10 9-1/2 to 10-1/2 inches

You might want to check out this NEW line. It looks perfect. I need to get this stuff
