Gator, Chickamauga, Crappie, 12/12/11, Solo - FishNews - 12-13-2011 Well, today was "special". I had planned to meet Drumking at HBSP at 11:00 am for some crappie fishing but about 9:30 my wife said the hot water heater that serves her kitchen wasn't working so I called DK and had to postpone our trip but I should have looked at it before calling him. After about 10 minutes I fixed the water heater (it was only the reset button) so I called DK back but he already had another trip with Pat. I called 3 others but no takers so I went solo.<br />Fished from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm fishing mostly docks but a couple bluff areas, caught fish on most docks and 1 bluff. Some fish were really shallow and some were down to about 10' deep on the bottom, not much of a pattern today. BG bleeding shad seemed to be the bait they liked the best although I did catch several on some stubby butts in shad colors with a tail light (chartruce dip). Total fish was 29 with 9 keepers and 1 lone drum. Lots and lots of bait fish were about everywhere and water temp around 50-52 in most places. What made the day extra special was trying to back my trailer with my new truck as it has a tonneau top and I can't see then end of the trailer except in the rearview mirrors and it took about 20 minutes to load the boat. Still it was a great day to be on the water. emoLaugh emoGeezer
