Cascade ? - Bronco66 - 01-05-2012 I'm lucky enough to be staying in a clients beautiful Mansion on Cascade this coming Tuesday and Wednesday directly across from Tamarack while working in his home and I would love to fish anything nearby. Hopefully just fish off the porch!! but... Any body have any info for a good starting point near Donnelly? Any help would be great. How far out into the Lake should I be fishing? I have an 8inch Hand Auger and a pole. Thats about it. So i feel like I'm really fishing blind. A lot of folks have been fishing about 200 yards west/northwest of the boat ramp or off the point a few hundred yards to the northwest where the Gold Fork arm meets the main reservoir. I fished there a few days ago closer to shore and the ice was thick and hard. I had a crappy 8" auger and it took forever to drill holes so I finally bit the bullet and bought a 6" Nils which I can't wait to try this weekend. Colored jigheads tipped with a small piece of nightcrawler will work and using some kind of scent often helps. Try to bounce the jig off the bottom and expect very light bites. I caught lots of little perch and four over 11" so it has been slow but it will turn on sometime - hopefully when you are there next week. Folks are pretty nice up there so don't hestitate to walk over and see how they are doing. There should be a few groups fishing out there. Good luck. But if your there it's worth dunking a worm and fishing will get better. Keep us posted on how you do. Hope the fish are biting by then! Are there many Coho or Lake Trout/Muskie in Cascade? Anywhere in Particular I should be looking? [signature] |
