Fish Lake - PACKFAN - 01-19-2012
I would like to spend a weekend at Fish Lake this winter ice fishing within the next couple weeks. Could someone help out by recommending a place to stay for a couple nights. Is Richfield the best place to find a room or is there someplace closer? Thanks for the info.

They have cabins for rent right on the shore. Some people also stay in Loa, which wouldn't be a bad idea if you wanted to fish Mill Meadow while you're at it.

A lot depends on what you want to do during your down time. If you want restaurants then you'll have to get off the mountain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's any place to get a meal up there. If you want to be able to run back out onto the lake after dinner, you'll wanna stay right there. I used to get the chance about 6 or 8 times a winter to spend a three day trip to the area. I always stayed in Richfield. If the fishin' wasn't what I expected at Fish Lake, there were always plenty of other places to wet a line.

Thanks guys, I will give Bowery Haven a call. Says they have kitchenettes, that will do us just fine. I would just as soon stay at the lake.

There are some nice motels in Loa if you stay there you could go fish mill meadow and Johnson and 1 other one right there to its a nice little town with little cafes
