Barracuda weight - catfishhoward - 01-27-2012 Can anyone tell me about how much this fish should weight +/-. I’m in the picture with the fish. I’m 5’ 10” with a 34” waste. My head is 6” wide. My scale said 33lbs but could we have read it wrong and it said 53lbs, maybe the digital screen was dirty. Thanks for the help, it's been driving me crazy, I got to know. They are long but slender fish and a 5-6 foot one is usually 30 something pounds from what I've been told by more experienced family when we hook one. There are all sorts of fish weight calculators online but you'd have to just make your best guess at measurements there as well to get the estimated weight. With sharks and cudas I just guess the length and release them without taking them out of the water. Not sure many people have a good idea what a 33 lbs barracuda really looks like anyway. Probably get a better idea if you say 5 ft. [signature] |
