Played hooky from work to try to catch a few Crappie. Put in at Dayton Boat Dock. Water is very shallow for about the first 500 yards or so. Run out to the main channel and caught 2 keepers. One on a float and minnow and the other on a BG Outlaw Special. Made a run up the Hiwassee to the 58 bridge. Caught a few short fish. Ran back to Richland creek and picked up a few more along with about a 20 pound drum. Ended the day with 6 keepers caught on minnows, BG outlaw special and a red/chartreuse tube. Good day on the water. Saw a Bald Eagle. Water temp up to 51 degrees. emoSmile
