Deer creek trolling - danielc - 03-17-2012 Whats the best bait to troll at DC for Browns for walleye? [signature] Re: [danielc] Deer creek trolling - Therapist - 03-17-2012 Big Rapalas !! At night !! Re: [danielc] Deer creek trolling - a_bow_nut - 03-17-2012 Almost any crankbait in perch or trout patterns work well. One of our favorites had been the Rebel crayfish shaped lures. Some odd lures work at certain times of the year... these cranks work year round, for a huge variety of species. Browns in particular but I have yet to try them on eyes. [signature] Re: [ocean] Deer creek trolling - danielc - 03-18-2012 i do have one down rigger cant waite to try it out for the first time. [signature] Re: [danielc] Deer creek trolling - ocean - 03-19-2012 I use 2 clips when i use my down rigger i set them 10 feet apart . I usually start around 50 feet and work my way to 35 feet . It also depends on water temps how deep i troll .I usually find the browns between 20-35 feet and eyes right under that hope this info helps. [signature] Re: [ocean] Deer creek trolling - danielc - 03-20-2012 Do you use two poles i dont understand the 2 clip thing [signature] Re: [danielc] Deer creek trolling - ocean - 03-20-2012 Yes you use 2 poles you can buy an xtra clip that you put on the wire on your down rigger. [signature] Re: [danielc] Deer creek trolling - jign - 03-20-2012 I think he means one down rigger with a clip on the bottom by your weight then he adds a second clip above that at the other depth you select.. The add on clip has a safety pin type attachment to fasten it to the cable so you don't lose it then two rubber clips... One to attach it to the cable at the depth you select and the other to attach to your line.. I watching this also... I just bought a boat and I'm trying to learn about the different bodies of water in the state.. [signature] Re: [jign] Deer creek trolling - ocean - 03-20-2012 Thats exactly what i meant thanks. [signature] Re: [ocean] Deer creek trolling - JLW - 03-20-2012 They make alot of different releases for balls and cables. Shasta tackle has a devise called a shuttle hawk. You can run your bait up and down without raising your ball. It takes alittle to get used to but is pretty sweet. Fishon [signature] Re: [a_bow_nut] Deer creek trolling - MasterBaiter72 - 03-20-2012 I've been looking at those. What pattern seems to work best(Chartreuse, Ditch, etc)? Is there much of a difference between the Teeny Wee and the Deep? [signature] |
