Abu Garcia 5600 c4 sticky drag? - ineedtofish - 03-17-2012
Hi I recently replaced my drag washers with the carbontex washers, and have not noticed much of a difference. I have a 5601 CB Abu with stock washers and it seems to have a smoother drag than my c4 with the new washers. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks

you may have a dirt, gummy greese or a film along other movement parts, if you have the skill, completly disasemble it clean it with dawn dry it out and aply fishing reel lub or hot fire oil lub and reasemble.
check for any nicks or mars along all movement parts. some honing may be required. but I think it is just gummy and needs a good cleaning. That usualy solves my sticky problems.

yeah I clean my reels all the time, and I have completely gone through that one and cleaned it thoroughly. I applied quantum hot sauce, but someone on another forum told me this stuff sucks...? I have only heard good things about it. I am going to get some Cal's grease and put that on to see if it makes much difference.
