Provo River Delta Plan News - TubeDude - 05-01-2012

[cool][#0000ff]A heartening article in the Salt Lake Tribune this morning that the Feds are going to take more time and study the delta plan more thoroughly before rushing into things.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]There have been a series of publicized meetings for concerned parties to attend and weigh in. Not sure about on an ongoing basis. Might look up the commission online and see if there is an email address or phone number.[/#0000ff]

Re: [TubeDude] Provo River Delta Plan News - TubeDude - 05-05-2012

[cool][#0000ff]More news in this morning's Tribune. Looks like saner heads are prevailing and the plan is no longer a slam dunk. Utah County has put a block on it by creating an agricultural protection zone in the path of the proposed delta.[/#0000ff]

Re: [TubeDude] Provo River Delta Plan News - Henries8 - 05-05-2012

Which "non-native" fish are they referring too?

Re: [Henries8] Provo River Delta Plan News - TubeDude - 05-05-2012

[cool][#0000ff]Virtually all species in the lake...except chubs, suckers and cutthroat trout...are "non-native". [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The species most detrimental to Junies are the carp...because they destroy nursery habitat and feeding areas. But the predators such as walleye, white bass, largemouths and catfish take a heavy toll on the young as well.[/#0000ff]
