More Carp on th Fly - joshomaru - 05-06-2012 Hit a little spot I found in December when I needed to get out of the house for a little while. This spot sees little to no angler pressure. Carp were rooting, tails up, hanging out with their homies. Took a couple re-ties to figure out what they wanted. GLO-BUG. I have one picture, which I will post when my phone finishes drying out. Yeah, I fell in. Caught about ten or so, biggest around 10lbs. Hardest fighting fish of the day was about 6lbs. 9' 6wt Diamondback Flawless had enough backbone to turn them back when they were causing me to use my palm drag. And I never had to touch one with anything other than my hemostats and tip of my boot. Cheers! [signature] Re: [joshomaru] More Carp on th Fly - flygoddess - 05-06-2012 Wahoo! Good to hear Josh. Glo-Bug has been the go-to fly for the Carplets for as long as I can remember, during any season, any temperature, and any water. I mean carp. The one that dragged me in... [signature] Re: [joshomaru] More Carp on th Fly - flygoddess - 05-06-2012 I have been seriously fishing carp (on the fly) for probably close to 10 years. I have tried everyones go to patterns, watched videos, joined Carp fly swaps looking for that ultimate fly, but honestly, five years ago I bid on Rainy's Carp Collection and won it. In that box was some killer patterns and while doing well with the Hex, and the Prince Nymph, I have caught hundreds of carp over the years and most on a Yellow Glo Bug. Took the hibby outand he hooked one on third cast....yellow Glow Bug. It just works that good.
