Jonathan and I had a gameplan after he had prefished this week and we started off fishing deeper water on points and ledges. The fish didn't want to cooperate with us early on and we only managed one here and there for the first several hours. We jumped from spot to spot, marking fish at each of them, they just weren't ready to bite.

We aborted the deep stuff and went flipping to try and get a limit. At about 10 we had 3 in the boat, all cookie cutter small keepers.

Made our way back out deep again and finally caught a few better fish. I landed one over 4 on a T-rig in about 15' and Jonathan followed suit with a good 3lber on a C-rig. So now we had our limit, but needed to cull, bad.

Pulled off the deeper bite again to let the school we were working settle down. Made a short run to a dock we know very well and started flipping to rockpiles and brush. I told Faith to flip under the back corner to a rockpile and he pitches a jig right on top of it. 2 seconds later he slams it home on another 4lber. Now we need to cull at least 2 more times.

Made our way back to our deeper spot around 1. Seemed the fish had scattered out a bit, but Jonathan landed another good 3lber on a brush hog and we culled again. Now we were left with one more 2lber in the well, with about an hour left to fish. Try as we might, we couldn't do it there, so we started making our way back to the park. Had one more spot in mind, but of course someone was sitting on it. So we pulled up to a dock and started flipping some more. I stuck another on a jig, but it wouldn't cull and we headed on back to the ramp.

Finished the day with 15.57 and were probably right around the top 10 or 12. It was a TOUGH day to be on the water. Rained all day long. Never anything hard, but just enough to make you mad. I forgot my rainjacket, but luckily found the largest trash bag I've EVER seen. It saved my butt today, no matter how stupid I looked emoBigSmile

Had a great time as usual, thanks for the ride Faith. We've improved just about every event so far this year. Hopefully we can be in that top 40% and get to fish for that Tracker!

Congrats to Jeff Richmond on the win with 22+ emoThumbsup
