Big drop in temperature and the wind was brutal. The trollers in boats still seemed to still be doing well (at least the two guys in the boat criss-crossing me all day) they trolled real slow with narrow spoons, real simple no flashers. The fishing should be better this weekend with the weather warming up and leveling out. Over the last month we have been catching lots of "Flying footballs" really healthy 'bows mostly 10"-14" (they love to jump in that water). With an occasional 17(+/-)" we are fishing from tubes & pontoons. Peacock Stainers and smaller olive/brown buggers with some flash in the chenille have been working well (size 8). The only word I've gotten on Magic is "bigger fish but slow". [signature] Re: [iwantabuggy] L.C. or Magic? - windriver - 06-15-2012 Wish I could help, but haven't been that way in three years. Good Luck. Windriver [signature] Re: [iwantabuggy] L.C. or Magic? - brownieguy - 06-16-2012 Hey I'm headed up there in the morning, how did you end up doing and where did you end up today? I'll throw something up when I get home sunday on how it was. [signature] Re: [brownieguy] L.C. or Magic? - brownieguy - 06-16-2012 I wouldn't call Magic on fire but it was steady fishing today. We started early this morning and fished till about 1:30, boating 17 fish between three guys all between 16 and 20 inches and all very healthy. We caught them on vampire rapalas and red dot frog buoyants, if you woulnt mind sharing your secrets by pm that would be apreciated [signature] Re: [drowning_flys] L.C. or Magic? - Perry3 - 06-17-2012 L.C. was awesome today. I lost count. Mostly fat 14-15 inchers. Caught quite a few bass too which surprised me. A couple over 12". I caught about 10 rainbows ranging from 5-15 inches at about 10 smallies in about the same size range. All were caught on leech patterns. I'll try to get some video of the smallies on line soon. It is going to take some getting used to. [signature] |
