Flaming Gorge info - jrs4x4 - 10-23-2003

[Image: Fish.gif]We are going to head up in the next few days. I wondering what this warm weather has done to the mac spawn in linwood bay. Any recent information would be helpful.

Re: [jrs4x4] Flaming Gorge info - Gumbo - 10-24-2003

I recently read a report on www.wayneswords.com that said the big macs were not yet in their traditional spawning beds in Linwood. But they should be after this cold spell hits. 3rd person, but it sounds right.

You'll find them staging or on classic spawning areas in Linwood. Get a Fish-N-Map and look for the gravel beds in Linwood, about 1 minute ride from the ramp. Graph the gravel humps down about 80'. If the weather's calm and you mark >5 fish on bottom, then stop and jig. Once the wind starts picking up or if the fish are scattered, troll the bottom with popgear and minnow or a large, jointed flatfish. There's plenty of other areas near Linwood you can try too. Get the map, spend some time, and keep your presentation on the bottom.

Good luck.
