drumking, chickamauga, white bass and crappie, 16 July 2012, Bassert - FishNews - 07-18-2012 Pat and I got an early start in order to beat the heat today and ran up to the nuke discharge area to fish for white bass. They were still coming up a little bit. Not as good as before, but we still managed to catch over 30 by 8:00 and then we went crappie fishing. Ran to the creek and caught several fish. About 7 throwback (9&quot fish for every keeper that we had. My biggest keeper crappie was 12" long and fat.

We fished bridge pilings later on in the morning when it got hot. We just had to get in the shady area of the bridge and fish for little crappie. We must have pulled in about as many crappie as we did white bass this morning. It was fun.

We caught the white bass on tail spinners and Pop-R topwater lures. The crappie came on 1/32 oz Bobby Garland plastics in various colors. I had great luck on bluegrass and ghost with a tail light. Pat caught his on chartreuse, crystal shad, and a couple more colors. I will let him expound on his day.

Had gutter people coming to install new gutters on the house, so we quit promptly at noon. Thanks for taking me fishing, Pat. It was fun chasing those whites around the boils. emoBig emoGeezer |
