Had my daughter in town & she had never fished a tourney before so we decided this would be it! Things definitely didn't start out very well. I didn't get the plug in very well, so idling out the bilge pumps started! I was heading back in to trailer the boat & check it, when Brent & Shane came up. My son took pity on his old man & jumped in & put the plug in right. We blasted off & headed up river. My motor has been acting up a little & it started hesitating. Had to run idle for a while & then it would run at 3000-3500rpm. Finally hit our first area & caught nothing! Moved to my next drop &...nothing! Went to the grass & got bit quick, but I missed it!emoBang Then I caught a small keeperemoApplause finally, at about 10:30. Then Jackie gets a nice 2.75#. Moved to a creek drop & quickly get a 3.5#, but then nothing else for an hr. Moved to a river ledge about 12:30 & Jackie gets a good 2.5#, so we cull the little one, but cant get anythinbg else there. Go back to the grass about 1:15 & I get a 2#, but doesn't help. Limped in. All fish caught on T-rig & shakey worm. Finished with 8.85#. Tough nite but fun getting to fish with my daughter. She's wanting to fish Aug. with me now! I told her she needs to go with Brent!!
