Weber River question - Fish_Finder3 - 08-08-2012 I am planning on heading up to the Weber tonight below Echo, I am hoping to get in around Peterson or Taggart area. I haven't hit the river in that section for quite a while because the water level has been out of control there. Does anyone know if the flow has come down and the clarity of the water? I've been itching to throw some Kelly Galloup streamers throught that section in the evening. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you. Is that a level that is fishable? Or is that really high still? Thanks again for the website attachment. If it was me I'd hit the Middle Weber. Little early to hit for big browns out of Rockport but that would be my second choice over the Lower Weber. At 400 the gravel bars are running 6" deep and the river is pretty much wall to wall bin most places. Some who know it better know places to fish at those levels and do well. I prefer smaller waters, but that's just me. [signature] Re: [Troll] Weber River question - TylerKunz - 08-09-2012 I fished the middle Monday morning and it was fishing pretty decent... I think it was right around 200-250. Not alot of big fish... A few nice browns but some pretty good fighting whiteys. I was using a full sink rate IV and I was throwing a barely legal L, tied by Kelly galloup. It was a successful day but didn't get into anything to large yet. 12 trout at about 15-18 inches. The prize of the day was catching two beautiful cutthroat that pushed about 17 or so. Still a little early on the big browns but I enjoyed every bit of tonight. Thanks for all of the suggestions. Keep em coming! [signature] |
