Fish Lake, Uintas - Deadeye008 - 08-15-2012

Went up to the Fish Lake area of the Uintas on an overnighter this weekend. Caught a bunch of grayling and brookies. We came in from the East instread of from the Dry Fork TH. Pretty grueling going over the ridge. Gained 600 ft in under .5 mile. Had an awesome time watching the meteor shower that night.

Pretty grayling but you could have placed the picture first.
My favorite bushwhack hike gains 1000 ft in about a half mile only to have to descend 700 ft to hit the stream below. I fish upstream and then get the easy 600 ft ascent and 1000 ft descent on the way out.[Wink].

Great Photos. Love the fisheye effect on those alpine lakes.

Breath taking! I would have guessed a GoPro with the first couple pictures, but maybe a different camera with a fish eye lense? Are these pictures enhanced in any way? They are fabulous.

Thanks all! I use a Canon T2i DLSR. The lens I used for most of these pictures is a Tokina 10-17 fisheye. I process them in Lightroom. We did not hit Whiskey Island Lake at all. We parked at the end of the road that is a little North of Whiskey Island.

Awesome Photos! Looks like a great trip. Looks like you found a marker to one of the old Spanish mines that are rumored to be lurking in the Uintas. I have read a few books about them, and have seen a few similar tree markers in my various outings.
