Reg Gap worm hooks or wide gap? - Paulpro - 10-09-2012 Which do you prefer for worm fishing such as senkos, and why... share your experience with each hook or just one. [signature] Re: [Erawk] offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Paulpro - 11-06-2012 everything has its ups and downs,up side of your hook is that the tip of the hook is level with the eye "if you turn hook on its side you can see" Good thing about dat your worm swims straight down side it misses fish since the point is level with the eye. On the off-set hook which I use[cool] the tip of the hook is higher than the eye of the hook allowing I think for more hooksets down side the worm may not swim as straight[frown] PeacockBassProfessor [signature] Re: [gdn443] offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Paulpro - 11-06-2012 The night I caught the Pacu had a choice to use a reg off set hook or wide gap Went with the reg off set and caught the pacu,so I'm sticking with this type of hook even for bass fishing 30+ lb Pacu..heres a picture of what the hook looked like after the fight with the pacu check it out all bent up last pic in this post [ ![]() [signature] Re: [Paulpro] offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Edgy779 - 11-20-2012 I mostly use EWG, or extra wide gap because pretty much all i fish is plastics [signature] Re: [Edgy779] offset worm hooks or wide gap? - inyourmouth - 01-07-2013 The wide gap has been working well for me. [signature] Re: [Paulpro] Reg offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Bassmaster-ND - 01-12-2013 All I use is wide gap. [signature] Re: [Erawk] Reg offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Paulpro - 02-01-2013 I sometimes use my buddies wide gap,but I buy reg shank off set The first worm hooks for Bass I used were reg gap so I guess just use to them. Heres a vid of Alfred himself using Wide Gap catches a nice Cypress trout on a Senko blk, fishing barbless. We pintch the barbs down on everything even lures. Its fish like these makes you glad you pintched the barb down, its a good 6lb everglades trout! with teeth! All I pretty much use is soft plastics. Although, my biggest bass is a victim of an offset hook. [signature] Re: [Quickcatch14] Reg offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Paulpro - 02-05-2013 nice..a lucky hook The reg offset held up for me to a pacu! check out the pic of whats left of the hook "all bent up" [signature] Re: [Paulpro] Reg offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Quickcatch14 - 02-05-2013 They can for sure be trusted! [signature] Re: [Paulpro] Reg offset worm hooks or wide gap? - LLOMichalchik - 02-13-2013 Wide gap seem to work best for me. [signature] Re: [gdn443] offset worm hooks or wide gap? - Paulpro - 03-07-2013 Remember these hooks..the worm hooks from back in the day before all these fancy hooks. For plastic worms back in the day, normally you rig them with the hook exposed..Old school style, never had a Probem with them hooks.. These are the straight shank Blue finish hooks with the barbs on the shank to hold the worm from sliding down, remeber them..I just picked some up and added a weed guard to them out of steel wire, using 61lb wire and a 29lb for a smaller hook. Mustad hooks using the NEW Mustad Micro pliers. Here's how to rig your own weedless hooks ![]() [ul][li][url "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT3tJR_nRhQ"] ![]() ![]() ![]() [url "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT3tJR_nRhQ"]Original Bass hooks GONE weedless!!![/url] [signature] |
