Johnson 25 ? - castnshoot - 11-11-2012 I have a Johnson 25 hp that I am having problems with. It ran great at it's last location at 300' above to 150' below sea level. I now have it at a lake in southern Utah @ 5600" above sea level, and it runs like crap. I'm hoping it is just a matter of changing the jet size. Does any body know of a reliable person that could take care of that or maybe rebuild the carb. if it needs it? I'm near Beaver Utah. All I had to do was adjust the one carb mixture knob (lean-rich) on the front of the cowling. I had to turn it all the way to one side. Then I removed the small screw in the front of the knob, took off the knob and pointed it in the other direction, then replaced the knob and screw. Then I re-adjusted the carb again. The knob would not turn enough in one direction so I had to remove that screw so I could continue to turn the adjuster. It worked and I never had to rejet the carb. I sold the boat to a friend and he is still using the motor. Its been over 10 years now and the motor still runs great. [signature] |
