Strawberry in the A.M. - PACKFAN - 11-24-2012
I usually don't fish Strawberry excepy for the DAV outings. A fellow BFT'R (Smoke On The Water) invited me to join him tomorrow for a trip up there. Anything special a guy should be using this time of year? We plan on doing some vertical jigging with plastics as well as some shoreline casting with cranks and plastics. I'm not sure where he wants to put in at. When I go up I usually fish the Soldier Creek side. Thanks for any info, he wants to get out one more time this year before the hard deck hits.[fishin]

I finally got up there for the first time on Black Friday. Contrary to what others had posted previously, it was a slow day for all we spoke to in the Renegade area. Folks moving around a lot. All those we talked to said they got 2. [:/] We caught a cutt or two in each of the several areas we tried, but never found any numbers. Almost all we got were suspended mid depth in 20' - on the typical white tube with chub on a slow presentation.
I'd sure like to get more familiar with the SC side on open water.

We didn't get on the water untill a little after 10 this morning. Bass Rod was launching as we were pulling out. We ran into him again later in the narrows. Took a bit to figure the slimers out but once we did it we started catching fish. I went to one of my favorite baits the Flicker Shad and once I found the color they wanted with a bit of attractant added it was game on, only thing is my partner had to leave fairly early for a dinner date with his Mrs. so we pulled out about 3 P.M. Fish were still biting. Bass rods was leaving just ahead of us, not sure how they did. It was a beautiful fall day on the water with a little afternoon breeze blowing, a mild breeze by Strawberry standards.
