Swanson Russell Promotes Four to Senior Vice President - FishNews - 12-04-2012 LINCOLN, Neb. (Nov. 28, 2012) - Swanson Russell announces the promotions of Joe Maguire, Dick Placzek, Brent Schott and Greg Wiley to senior vice president. "Both Dick and Brent have managed the largest of our client portfolios over the past 10 years, have been leaders in our new business development efforts, been responsible for the growth and development of a number of account service individuals and have become recognized as leaders in the overall growth and success of Swanson Russell," said Dave Hansen, partner and CEO. "Their promotions recognize those contributions." Brian Boesche, partner and Chief Creative Officer, said, "Joe and Greg have been invaluable mentors in the creative department, shaping our creative product for more than 20 years. They've played pivotal roles in establishing and maintaining creative culture and development internally, and their impact on clients has also been critical to the agency's success." Maguire was promoted to Senior Vice President/Director of Creative Operations. The Lexington, Neb., native joined the agency in 1988 as a graphic artist and was eventually promoted to art director and creative director. As the director of creative operations, he will oversee workflow processes including traffic, resource administration and production, in addition to monitoring training programs for creative development. He will also continue to work with clients as a creative director and on new business opportunities. Maguire holds a degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Grand Island, Neb., native Placzek was promoted to Senior Vice President/Group Account Director. He joined the agency in 1996 as an account supervisor. Throughout his 15-year tenure, he has proven his ability to secure new business, manage and retain clients, and lead several account teams, primarily in the outdoor recreation industry. In his new role, he will continue working with clients and providing overall strategic direction. Prior to joining Swanson Russell, Placzek spent time at Bailey Lauerman in Lincoln and at Hornady Manufacturing in Grand Island. He is currently a member of the board of trustees for First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln, a board member for the National Youth Shooting Sports Alliance and a member of the American Marketing Association. He holds a journalism degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Also promoted to Senior Vice President/Group Account Director, Schott joined Swanson Russell in 1990 as the agency's first computer graphics designer. He then spent five years in the agency's database marketing department before moving into account service. Throughout his 22-year career at Swanson Russell, Schott has developed expertise in brand management, strategic planning, marketing communications and business development. He leads multiple account teams for the agency's clients in the construction and green industries, and will continue to lead and provide strategic direction in his new role. Prior to joining Swanson Russell, he held a director of marketing position for McKay Associates in Lincoln. Schott, of Palmyra, Neb., holds degrees in education, journalism and English from UNL. Wiley was promoted to Senior Vice President/Director of Creative Development. He joined Swanson Russell in 1990 as an intern, was subsequently hired as a graphic artist and eventually promoted to creative director. In his new role, he will take on the responsibility of maintaining the creative culture within the Lincoln office, emphasizing the collaboration between the agency's creative philosophies and brand promise of Real Connectionâ„¢. Additionally, he will maintain relationships with clients as a creative director and work on pursuing new business opportunities. Wiley, a Lincoln native, holds a journalism degree from UNL.
