...a rod tip? the plastic coating inside of the eyelet came apart and i need to put on a new tip. have replaced a broken one but have never removed one.[fishin]

Easy but be careful. Heat the tip with a flame I use a candle don't over heat this or you'll ruin the rod. Heat just enough to loosen the tip then just pull it off. Takes a little finesse but you'll get it. Good luck.
