Can you identify this old,old reel? - Dryrod - 11-10-2003

[size 1]Can you identify this old reel and the year it was made? This was my first reel that my dad gave me when I was a kid.[/size]

Well....The handle knobs don't look like they're made from Wooly Mammoth tusks, so it can't be THAT old!

I think I will agree with byrum, the crank arm is a clasic shakespear design.
I had one at one time and never could figure out how to cast it. I was as new to angling as you can get way back in 64
we had a thin black braded line spooled on it...

Hey there Dryrod,
I was thinking maybe identifying regional lures (old but more newer models) might be interesting and educational too. I've heard of a couple of some hot saltwater lures made down Lousisana way but no pictures! Whahhhhhhhh!
I'll look for them on the net today.
