Slow on deer creek...Provo river? - fisherdave - 02-17-2013 I fished deer creek Saturday afternoon and things were pretty slow, even for the guys that had been there a few hours already when I arrived. I tried both the Walsburg arm and the state park area by the island and caught one small rainbow. Lots of guys out on the ice with minimal success. I spoke to a couple guys that were leaving as I just got there and they hadn't even seen much activity on the radar. I wonder if the fish were congregated toward the main lake or just not biting...I dunno. Plenty of ice, over a foot for sure. Maybe the warm weather plays a factor in their bite. Anybody had success on the provo river lately? Sometimes that open water is more appealing after a rough day on the ice.
