Micro Fishing attempt using #14 hook 2lb test - Paulpro - 03-04-2013

This is my first time fishing mono fishing line again in 15 years, and my first attempt at micro fishing..Let me know if I have the right tackle! I'm not even sure if I'm using the correct diameter line for it to be actually considered micro fishing.
I hope the hook isn't to big or the split shot even[:/]

Fun fight either way on 2lb test! My biggest on 2lb line

That might be a great accomplishment to a bass fanatic, Paul. But it is not at all uncommon to catch five pounds and up trout on one-pound tippets and #22 hooks while fly fishing. Not demeaning your feat, mind you, just giving some added perspective.

Thanks for the insight!
Smallest I ever used is #16 long shank hook and caught a nice spotted tilapia!,normally use them hooks to catch bait

Thinking of going for big carp on this #14 hook haha!
maybe a 20lb+ on 2lb[Image: scaredworried.gif]

Nice catch Paul! I'm using 10lb mono this season and still worry about breaking my line or losing fish every time I hook one. 6lb test is the smallest I have ever gone and use that on my Crappie reels.

Good job.[:p]

Speaking of micro set ups for large fish. Here is a video of me catching a Sturgeon that is right at 7 foot long on a trout pole. Ron

To illustrate flygoddess's comment, a #32 hook is almost exactly this size: J
