Bear river - tl23life - 04-12-2013 Going catfishing tonight at bird refuge or Corrine what bait works good this early I usually use beef liver but that's in the hot of the summer is the diet different? Thanks for any info [signature] Re: [tl23life] Bear river - wiperhunter2 - 04-13-2013 The only bait I use this time of the year for cats is nightcrawlers but I suppose cut bait would work as well, like chub, sucker or carp. [signature] Re: [tl23life] Bear river - setthehook - 04-13-2013 cats are hungry this time of year! went out last night and caught cats on 4 different baits [signature] Re: [wiperhunter2] Bear river - CoyoteSpinner - 04-13-2013 [quote wiperhunter2]The only bait I use this time of the year for cats is nightcrawlers but I suppose cut bait would work as well, like chub, sucker or crap.[/quote] Do you have a certain type of crap that you prefer to use? [:p] Dog, Cat, Cow? Or is there some prepackaged variety that works well? Tell ya what I see cats full of THIS early? Green moss. Just not sure how to put the goo on a hook. Maybe I should try some mesh, like chicken livers. Seem to get more hookups on basic worms early, then shrimp, cut-bait, minnows later. Know lots of folks that go with the chicken options. |
