The only bait I use this time of the year for cats is nightcrawlers but I suppose cut bait would work as well, like chub, sucker or carp.

Do you have a certain type of crap that you prefer to use? [:p] Dog, Cat, Cow? Or is there some prepackaged variety that works well?

Tell ya what I see cats full of THIS early? Green moss. Just not sure how to put the goo on a hook. Maybe I should try some mesh, like chicken livers.

Seem to get more hookups on basic worms early, then shrimp, cut-bait, minnows later. Know lots of folks that go with the chicken options.
