Night Fishing Mead - lvfishingdude - 04-19-2013
My buddy has convinced me to try and do some night fishing tonight. Going to launch out of callville. Any suggestions. Was planning on anchoring and using anchovies/sardines.
Never tried this before, always troll. Just want to put some hours on the new boat. Let me know.

I have caught more fish at night with bait at Lake Mead than any other method...chum it up pretty good as soon as you get started. From mid May to mid July I found Middle Point Island to be the ticket for night time fishing...usually have to stop because the cooler(s) are full of fish

I was out with a friend on his boat last night , we were drifting very slow in front of government wash area. I had a two hook set up with a couple of small split shots in front of it. With a whole anchovie on each hook. We hook a lot of small ones 1lb range but around 10:30 - 11 o'clock I hooked in to something big, Real Big and it wasn't no catfish, it fought like a big striper. I had it on the hook for almost an hour, it took 3/4 of my line off the reel and then it was gone. Never got it close enough to see it . if anyone heard loud profanity on the lake last night and I offended anyone I'm sorry. they had to have heard me all the way to willow beach..
