Muskrat, Chickamauga Lake, bass / crappie, 6-3-13, solo - FishNews - 06-06-2013

More "cranking" for bass today with a little crappie fishing mixed in after my trolling motor died around 12:30. I fished from 10:00 am until 2:30 and caught 7 bass and 6 crappie. I didn't luck up on any big bass this trip but with the cold front that came through and my trolling motor issues I was happy with the results. I did lose my magic lure early that I caught all of my bass on the other day and it took me awhile to convince myself that I could catch fish on something else. Once again though my best bass came on a chartreuse blue back lure but this time a Bandit 200 - strange. I was just glad I had a similar lure. I was catching the bass in 8-12 feet running the crankbaits thru grass growing up from the bottom. I've been catching crappie by accident on crankbaits lately and caught 3 on crankbaits today in shade in about 12 feet and 3 more on BG Slab Slayers in around 20 feet. I'm still running into a few dark males - go figure ! Water temperature was 76-80 degrees.
