Put in at hwy 117 around 7:30, fished island in main channel for about an hour with only one shorty to show for it, moved down river looking for less current and clearer water, found a little protected island and they were chasing bait , really slapping them out of the water, in about 7 fow started throwing chrome rattle trap into them and hooking up with some nice ones, lost about 4or 5 , how they can throw a trap out with all those hooks is beyond me, changed to a sexy shad and caught a few more, then was invaded by a few boats that thought that my little cove was the only place on the river to fish, was getting hot by then so called it quits before I went to jail for shooting someone. Nothing huge but 5 weighed in at 17lbs 2oz. kept 6 for a fish fry today.
