Dream Fishing Trip - senkonate - 06-18-2013 Hey guys, SkunkedAgain's post today about good fishing in So Cal got me thinking.... What is your dream fishing trip in the continental U.S.? I've got a bunch of Southwest Miles I need to use up. :-) Could be a trip you've already done, or one that is still on your bucket list. I've always wanted to go to Alaska or even Brazil for Peacock Bass, but those trips will be when I'm a lot wealthier. If ya have free flight tickets, the daily fee isn't too bad, a couple hundred could make a great trip... Each summer I would catch king salmon, silver salmon, halibut, tuna, ling cod, sea bass, and all other varieties of bottom fish. My favorite was to catch the salmon and tuna, few things are more exciting than a 40 lb king salmon on the end of you line. And for my dream trip I would have to say fly fishing at Jurassic lake Argentina, the average rainbow is 8 lbs! Love to catch me a marlin or some mahi mahi. Either way it'll be a memory of a lifetime, go have fun. NE-well, maybe not in the same league as the other three corners. The Keys and Alaska are where its at, everything else is second fiddle. [signature] Re: [senkonate] Dream Fishing Trip - RangerRat - 06-19-2013 Already had my ultimate fishing trip. Fished for huge smallies on Wheeler Dam in Alabama. 5 fish limit would have been close to 21 lbs. And I caught 15 fish over 3 lbs. It was pure heaven. But I think your dream trip sounds like a blast as well, but its a little beyond my means to do. Newfoundland, Labrador......giant brook trout. The ultimate char. Wait....the ultimate fish! However the you're just not thinking up North or down East enough- I'd love to try Newfoundland or Labrador out for Atlantic salmon and brookies. I had a trip planned over 15 years a but the S. O. ruined those plans. [signature] Re: [senkonate] Dream Fishing Trip - jdk52 - 06-19-2013 Lake Powell during early Spring. [signature] |
