drumking, Chickamauga, crappie, June 30, 2013, Dr Phillip Gawthrop - FishNews - 07-01-2013 I took Dr Phil fishing this morning for crappie. He was needing a few as he was completely out of fish. We kept a limit for him to take home. We started off fishing the bluff areas and caught fish until the sun peaked over the horizon and they shut off for us just like turning a tap off.<br /><br />So, we hit some off shore structure and caught more fish. Then we went to docks and caught more fish. Then we went to submerged brush and caught more fish. Electric Chicken was the magic color today. I tried several different colors, but we kept coming back to the chicken to catch our fish. Dr Phil just stayed with the chicken while I experimented. emoBig <br /><br />One rogue spotted bass came calling but we threw him back. Dr Phil doesn't like bass. Must be something wrong with him. emoBig Another thing, the weather was sunny and the slight wind was cool and the fish were dragging bottom. We had to fish slowly to catch fish. Even on the bluffs early, the fish were deep. Not any 2 or 4 counts tight to the bluff today for us.<br /><br />Wind got up and the water chiggers came out in force along with the cruisers and bruisers, so we called it a day. That's it for June. I'm gonna take a break from fishing for a few days. Don't any one worry why I haven't been posting. Just taking a break. emoBig emoGeezer
