Government Wash Boils 7/16/13 - playa702 - 07-17-2013 Took my friend out to a little protected cove at government wash you have to hike to at 5 to do a little shore fishing. As soon as we reached the cove, we realize the entire cove is blowing up with a boil so we scramble around and get our gear ready. On my 2nd cast I get a hard hit, almost get it in and it snapped my line. My friend casts 1 time and catches his fish of the night. I went on to catch 3 before 8pm all on top water plugs. took 2 home to cook later. The pics of the LMB were from the same spot 2weeks ago, the big one weighed 9#s 26inches [inline IMG_5645.jpg] [inline IMG_20130704_094316.jpg] [signature] Re: [playa702] Government Wash Boils 7/16/13 - toadie_79 - 07-17-2013 Yup, no pics. Congrats on finding the boil. I have yet to find one that I could fish from the shore. Lol, I have caught everything else Lake Mead has to offer, LMB, SMB, Crappie, Bluegill, catfish, but I'm still getting skunked on the Striper. Guess, I will have to keep on trying. Probably doesn't help that I'm a bank tangler. lol [signature] Re: [toadie_79] Government Wash Boils 7/16/13 - TheChief - 07-18-2013 I caught a couple of small stripers from the bank at Rocky Point ,and landed a couple of LMB.The stripers took a silver/blue Kastmaster. If you have any tips on catching the LMB I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm pretty new to the game. Thanks! [signature] Re: [TheChief] Government Wash Boils 7/16/13 - BillyH - 07-23-2013 For LMB we kill it just drop shotting a senko worm, usually wacky rigged. Colors vary but you are normally safe with a pumpkin or green color. The last few big LMB 5+lbs were caught with 4" pumpkin colored fished nice and slow. We always take a ton of colors because it really does vary on what they will hit. Also, looong casts seem to produce more fish for me. You can also get into them with a football jig with a craw trailer or a storm swim shad.
