Was in the 58 tournament again this weekend. Met up with Matt for the first time he's not too bad a guy. took off by 6:45 drove a couple hundred yards and sat down. On my first cast I pulled in a 2 lber (yikes fish on the first cast I was kind of scared of the day). and I wasn't too far off the be. there wasn't another fish in that row and when we went to move I broke the trolling motor rope right where it comes out of the base!! took a while to get the short piece out and take the rest and get it tied down to fix it(got some cable from lowes ill install tomorrow and never have to worry about that problem. during fixing the trolling motor my partner bobbled his phone into the water. We were wondering if we would even make it till time to weigh in at this rate. but after that we moved on and picked up another nice one on another spot(these are all shallow and caught by flipping but that's all im going to say because im young and don't have many spots or baits!). we made a move up river and couldn't find anything on a spot that seems to load up from the b&b tournament if they do good. went back down river to a deeper spot that still had wood and we found and small group of nice sized bass and picked up 2 of them then they stopped biting(this tournament ends at 1 and fish usually stop biting around 11:00 so at 10 we had 2 fish and weren't too hopeful and by 10:30 we just needed 1 more fish to finish out a nice limit). but alas we spent the last couple hours searching and didn't get much more than a nibble. The worst part is we weighed in a the ramp and (for the second week in a row) I missed out on third place by 1lb and didn't even have a limit. just need that one more spot if anyone wants to be helpful!
