Newton slide by - CoyoteSpinner - 09-11-2013

Puddle's a mess, anglers are trashy pigs, water's scary low, new ramp is going in, but don't know that it's any longer that what they had. Hope they fill in the end, or there'll be a purdy abrupt drop at the lip.

Still like to see some wake-buoys go in to cover some portion of the launch area.

Didn't see hardly any fish activity, though - I'm determined to hop the mud, and float an inflatable, just because. I like pea soup!

I used to love fishing that little lake! Last time i was theirwe camped in a camper 20ft from the lake and we caught all sorts of different species of fish, even channel catsSmile its Sad to see the lake that low, what a waste of fish and money!

When I was there last they hadn't started to pour the cement yet and it was more of a drop off than it is now. At least they put some rocks there other wise it would really drop off.

Let's say it this way:

Trashy anglers are pigs.

I like the way you worded it Rocky, not all anglers are Trashy or we would all fall in the same category but there are plenty of trashy people angler or not.

This really sucks. This has been my go to shore fishing lake for years. Camp, and fish without much of a walk. And with the Perch population in Utah struggling this year, this doesn't help. I know there aren't huge Perch in Newton, but they were always a consistent catch.

Finally some pictures. Depressing to see such a place so low. Glad I took the oppertunity to fish it when I did. Thanks for the investigation work CYS.

As for the Newton Trails of adventure picture......same thing occurs on the Jordan....but it typically leads to some creepy homeless man.[Wink]

Point taken. How about "Newton Trash are piggy anglers" ?

I'll be interested to see what a fishfinder or underwater camera have to say about the state of affairs down under. . .

I would say similar. Last time I was there I noticed how many partially sunken tires and blocks and stuff were there.

How deep is Newton? Is it even 10 feet deep with how empty it is?

A friend of mine was telling me about musky filled ditches. 67 dead counted in one ditch. The majority of large musky apparently tried to escape the impending doom only to end up as fertilizer. This was some time ago before it got below the release gates I was told. Crazy!

A Busch Light drinker trashing the shoreline.... Color me not surprised. Smile

One of the biggest reasons I bought a tube is to escape any possible tie to the slobs that utterly trash lake shorelines. I started bringing a trash bag to at least clean up the area around me so I could stand to fish it last year when I was hitting Deer Creek's Island-that-was-not-an-Island frequently.

It was like standing on a trash heap... seriously the entire north side looked like the worst pictures you have.

Anyway, my trips are much more peaceful as I can enjoy the majestic surroundings away from the slobbery that way too many of our sportsmen foist upon our beautiful surroundings.

Deer Creek is one of the prettiest places on earth at sunrise.

Particularly with a bent pole in the foreground.

That does seem to be the most commonly seen brand for me. Why is it that you pretty much never see good craft brew bottles laying around? It's always the cheap stuff.

Re: [gstott] Newton slide by - CoyoteSpinner - 09-12-2013

Why would ya trash quality bottles and caps when you can do SO MUCH more with them!

ETDT - you're welcome. Just thought it worth sharing - and I've been curious to see their progress on the ramp. Almost looks narrower, and a slightly different angle. Guess time will tell.

chugg - I don't see how or where the TMs would be able to get out. There's a river coming in (trickle) but no outlet that's not gated and controlled. Now if they COULD have got free and run down the spillway into Cutler - that'd be something to cheer about (in my book).

AT - you might try taking note, pix, or GPS marks on some of them tires, barrells and such. At high water - that'll be "structure"! Done that with a few lakes, but those aren't maps I'd post! Smile,

The only other use a redneck has for cheap beer cans is this. A usually they only need one.
