Willards still on fire 5/28 - FishSlayerJT - 05-28-2014 Took a friend up to willard for his first time. Wanted to get him into some wiper and maybe a walleye if he was lucky. Got there around 4. Calm wind, hot, great day to be on the water. Trolled for over an hour without a bite. Started to move to a new area but within a minute we marked some fish on the finder. Put our lures back out. Fish on non stop til sun set. Endless wiper. Mostly smaller. Lost a few pigs. Hooked 2 5ft behind the boat letting my lure out. One hit hand lining in a tangled mess of braid from a previous fish. That was fun. Landed 1 walleye in the mix and 2 more after sunset on the way in to the marina. 19-22". Most fish were caught on clack n raps. All released. I have a counter on my trolling rod, i put the lure out 85-90 feet and try to get my other rods out about the same. [signature] |
